Join us for a Life-Changing Volunteer Experience in Uganda!
OneWorld Health hosts transformative volunteer experiences in Uganda, focusing on the Masindi and Kyenjojo areas. Volunteer teams play an important role as ambassadors of OneWorld Health in the communities we work alongside.
Our mission to deliver quality care to those in need thrives with the support of volunteers like you. These opportunities help us deliver crucial healthcare services and create meaningful connections with the communities we serve. No medical background is required to make a significant impact. If you are driven by the desire to contribute to a better world and are ready for an enriching and transformative experience, you will make an excellent volunteer with OneWorld Health.
Stay and Serve in Masindi
We established our first OneWorld Health facility in Masindi, Uganda, in 2011. Since then, we’ve established a presence across the Masindi District and in the Kyenjojo District to the southwest. While internationally, Uganda is known for the capital city of Kampala, in Western Uganda, we live a more rural lifestyle. Farms are common, and most families have some land they are cultivating. Life is very connected to the land, and things are slower. By staying in Masindi, a 4.5-hour drive from Entebbe Airport, volunteers can experience the impactful work at Masindi-Katara Hospital and engage with the local communities.
Itinerary:
- Friday: Team meeting in the US before departure.
- Saturday: Arrival in Entebbe and overnight stay at a local hotel.
- Sunday: Drive to Masindi, team bonding, and preparation.
- Monday to Friday: Outreach in various rural communities using local schools or churches.
- Saturday: Adventure to Murchison Falls National Park for a sunset safari.
- Sunday: Journey back home.
- Monday: Arrival in home airports.
